I love what I do. I teach private and group golf lessons to students of all ages and abilities at Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club in Palo Alto, CA. My practice is devoted to helping golfers thrive on the golf course in all competitive and social situations, and helping middle and high-school players prepare for competition.
My philosophy is simple: know and teach the person first, guide S.M.A.R.T. short- and long-term goal setting, and allow the student to discover and use his/her own athletic movement to make an athletic golf swing, recognizing that the player's emotions and physical body play a enormous role in performance.
When your kids take golf lessons with me, they learn more than just golf: fun through movement and agility, goal setting, fitness, etiquette, memory skills, time management, and problem solving. I allow my industry leading junior golf certifications, my experience as a top ranked player at the junior, college golf, and tour levels, and mother of two small children to guide my teaching. I coach my own children in the same way that I coach yours. If your child is curious about playing college golf, we can work together to find the perfect intersection between her academic goals and her golf dreams. Many of my students have gone on to play at college golf programs across the country.
As a certified Golf Fitness Instructor by the Titleist Performance Institute, I can help you build the best swing for your physical body, and then suggest strengthening or flexibility exercises to enhance your performance. I am fascinated by the effect that yoga has on a golfer's body and mind, continually researching more on the subject.
I regularly attend seminars, workshops, and webinars to keep learning new things that I can pass on to you. Reading is a passion.
I became a member of the Palo Alto Hills family in 2005 after teaching for the Troon Golf Academy at Troon North GC in Scottsdale, Sharon Heights CC in Menlo Park, and Los Altos Golf Company in Los Altos. Before I moved to the Bay Area, I spent three years from 2000-2002 playing professional golf on the Futures (now Symetra) Tour, Evian Ladies European Tour, and Players West Tour, winning three times and competing in the 2001 Women's US Open.
I was a college golf scholarship recipient at The University of Southern California and finished my career at The University of Arizona with a degree in English and minor in Art History. As a junior golfer I was the Arizona State Junior Champ, member of the AZ Jr. America's Cup Team, and a Rolex All-American.
I enjoy yoga, squash, tennis, biking, hiking, cooking, design, reading, learning, and spending time with my husband and two children.
